'Ageing well in Leicestershire'
Age Concern Leicester Shire & Rutland has been working with a number of agencies including the NHS, District Councils and the Voluntary sector in an initiative led by the County Council as part of their Local Area Agreement to produce an older persons Handbook.
The free handbook, entitled 'Ageing well in Leicestershire' provides important information and advice for older people throughout the County on a wide variety of topics. These topics include 'Accident prevention at home', 'Keeping mentally healthy', 'Maintaining Independence' and 'Caring for someone else'.
There are also important contact details of local organisations and services which could help older people maintain their independence and continue to live life to the full in their own homes.
The handbook will be circulated widely to older people across the County in places such as libraries and GP surgeries, as well as our own Charity shops.
