Day centres
These centres aim to support older people who wish to remain living in the community but need a little additional help.
Age Concern Leicester Shire & Rutland currently provides over 900 day care places on behalf of Leicestershire County Council, Rutland County Council and Leicestershire P.C.T.
Day care offers new friendships, entertainment and companionship for people who are sometimes house-bound and often socially isolated
Where an older person is being looked after by a carer, the day centre offers a much valued regular break.
All day centres provide transport and a meal.
Paid staff at all day centres are supported by local volunteers.
