The Age Concern Federation
The Age Concern Federation includes three separate but equal categories of Age Concern. These are:
Age Concern England
The national body which represents older people on issues of regional and national significance
Age Concern Organisations
These tend to cover County, City or Metropolitan areas. Age Concern Organisations tend to have many paid staff and work with a wide range of older people. They often work with some of the most vulnerable older people living in the community.
Age Concern Leicester Shire & Rutland is an Age Concern Organisation.
Age Concern Groups
These are independent Age Concerns that tend to cover towns , boroughs and districts. They may operate on a totally voluntary basis or they may have a small number of staff.
Details of the activities and services provided by Age Concern groups within our region can be found on our Groups page
There is no such thing as a typical Age Concern organisation or Age Concern group. Each age Concern is unique and seeks to respond to local needs.
All members of Age Concern, the Federation share the following aim:
"To make older age a fulfilling and enjoyable experience"
