Lunch clubsLunch out with friends

These groups help to meet the needs of older people who may be physically active but experiencing difficulties because of social isolation or bereavement. Quite often the attraction of a lunch club is the simple pleasure of being able to share a meal in the company of friends.

Lunch Clubs currently take many different forms but all of them are concerned with promoting the wellbeing of older people. For many active older people, this may be their first contact with Age Concern Leicester Shire & Rutland and so these clubs also act as a gateway to a whole range of other services.

Age Concern offers local lunch club services in several parts of the county, including Market Harborough and Sapcote.

Age Concern Leicester Shire and Rutland has also supported the development of independent  lunch clubs that meet the specific dietary and cultural needs of elders from black and Minority Ethnic communites.
