The Great Sunday Lunch 16th June 2008

What is it?
The Great Sunday Lunch is a new fundraising initiative to raise money to help older people across the UK.
This exciting new event will see people up and down the country getting together with friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances for a Sunday lunch to raise vital funds for Age Concern both locally and nationally.
It is Age Concern's answer to the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning, a fun and exciting new way to build awareness and raise vital funds.
The Great Sunday lunch is an event that will raise our profile through the use of celebrities, national PR and advertising as well as providing a vehicle for both national and local fundraising. It is also a celebration of the importance of family and friends getting together for a meal - and a reminder that for many older people Sunday is a particularly lonely and difficult time.
When is it?
The first ever annual Great Sunday Lunch will take place on 19th October 2008. But the weekend can start early and we are encouraging people to hold Sunday Lunches any time.
How can you raise money locally?
By organising Sunday Lunches and encourage others in the community to do the same
